Edge Hardening Flexible Die

Our flexible rotary dies are made from high quality steel by using etching and machining processes. For different requirement of cutting performance, flexible dies can be applied of different kinds of treatment, such as coating, edge hardening, chrome plate, etc.

When you place an order with us for flexible die, give us the definite sizes of bearer diameter J, body diameter K and body length L of the magnetic cylinder (see Figure 1) as well as send us the trial cutting materials for designing the edge height and edge angle and for testing cut.

When you place an order with us for magnetic cylinder, you must give us the following information.

- the drawing of the magnetic cylinder

- or the type of the printing machine

- and the undercut of the magnetic cylinder (see Figure 2)

Special features of edge hardening flexible die as follows

The blade edge of this kind of die is applied of hardening treatment. After the treatment, the edge of the blade gets a higher hardness and the central part of the blade still keeps a good flexibility. And this treatment doesn’t affect the size precision of the die.

    The cutting edge height and

    The cutting edge height and angle are individually adjusted. As well as kiss-cutting, through-cutting, special applications (e.g. piggy-back, sandwich materials, booklet labels, (micro) perforations, creasing, etc.) are no problem. Our evenly milled cutting edges guarantee minimum wear and tear.

    The cutting edge geometry of the flexible die is precisely adjusted to the material to be cut and the desired application. We have three basic versions in this respect:

    90° cutting edge angle

    For cutting standard adhesive papers, thermal papers.

    70° cutting edge angle

    For cutting films such as PET 85, PP, PET; also paper materials.

    Special cutting edge angle

    For cutting special films and other materials which are difficult to die-cut.
